Chapter 282: Give Me Children**
"I’m glad that you think that," Krisha smiled at him from behind.
"I do too," Taro chuckled back. "As much as I can see some benefit from it, it just isn’t worth the effort."
Krisha hummed in agreement at Taro’s words. As much as she wouldn’t have minded him wanting to take revenge, she felt a bit relieved that she wouldn’t have to deal with him wanting to go down that dark path. It was just not worth all of the potential heartache, especially since the man her husband wanted to kill was one of the most powerful demons in the land right now.
Taking that thought to the back of her mind, Krisha simply buried her face into Taro’s neck as they made their way to this treehouse that they would stay the night in. Before long, they finally arrived, and Krisha couldn’t help but crane her neck high as she stared at what was clearly a well-kept abode.
"Well, I can see that it is indeed well maintained," Krisha whistled as she got off their horse and followed Taro up the stairs.
"I made sure of it," Taro smirked. "It’s my home away from home. Well, my former home, but you know what I mean."
Chuckling at the joke, Krisha let her husband assist her up the tree. And after a bit of a few snags from some of the branches, she finally saw what was obviously a well-lived in home.
"I didn’t think that a treehouse would be this well-stocked," Krisha noted as she quickly made her way to sit on the bed. "This almost looks like we can live here."
"It’s a house, Krisha," he pointed out with a slight chuckle. "We have food here as well. Or if you don’t like preserved food, then I can go out and hunt for you."
"O-Oh no! That won’t be necessary," Krisha quickly stopped him. "I’m fine with whatever’s available."
They both shared another laugh and this time, she couldn’t help but feel like the space between them was shrinking ever so closely. Despite him standing a few feet away from her, it almost felt like they could touch each other. They were all alone. With no other people perhaps in perhaps miles away. There were just the two of them... In this one house...
