Chapter 137: Deep Feelings
The next morning, Mineah woke up early to start the day. Turning to her side, she looked at her sister Xenia who was still in deep sleep. She supposed she would have to be careful not to wake her up then.
Carefully, Mineah quietly moved out of bed before immediately grabbing the clothes she needed to wear. She then walked toward the connecting door her room had to Nikolai’s bedroom. Well, according to him, that was their official bedroom as husband and wife, so it was technically her bedroom now as well.
Shrugging, she quietly went inside and was instantly greeted by Nikolai’s charming face. Mineah felt her heart pound erratically at the sight of him. It was often like this, she noticed, and she could only wonder if there would ever come a time that his simple smiles wouldn’t make her heart flutter like this.
"Good morning, Mine," he greeted.
Smiling, she walked towards him and lovingly hugged him. Burying her face into his sturdy chest, she murmured, "Good morning, Lai."
She then tilted her head up and tiptoed a bit to give his lips a gentle peck. Immediately, Nikolai’s face reddened, and she loved how he still had those cheeky smiles on his face despite his blush.
"Let me fix myself first, then let’s head out," she smiled. "I want to prepare breakfast for my sister."
"Oh, I’m afraid you don’t have to do that," Nikolai stopped her before he explained why. "You see, Darius is already in the kitchen making all the servants there busy. He’s preparing breakfast for your sister right now. He said he wants to deliver it to her bed as soon as she wakes up."
Mineah raised an eyebrow at that. Well, last night, her sister mentioned that she was punishing Darius since the latter kept some details about their missing brother away from her despite already being aware of the situation. At that, he wasn’t at fault though. After all, it was their mother’s request for him to keep such information away from her sister Xenia.
