Chapter 116: Upset
Mineah yawned as soon as her back touched the comfort of her mattress. Letting herself relax, she unknowingly giggled at the thought of Lady Eva still sleeping inside the private room she used in the library hall.
With a small breath, she let herself doze off to sleep as the exhaustion of the day let her drift away... Almost immediately, Mineah found herself dreaming that she was back inside the library hall. However, no one was around this time, and she found herself walking further and saw a familiar staircase going down with vulture statues perched on both sides of the wall.
"I really want to know what’s inside," she hummed as she walked in that direction.
"Mine..."
Mineah stopped and turned around after hearing Nikolai’s familiar words. As usual, he was smiling at her, and she couldn’t help but do the same as he approached her.
"How come you didn’t contact me through the bond?" he asked. "I was waiting for you..."
It was then that she frowned. She was pretty sure she was dreaming. To confirm, she pinched herself, only to not feel the pain she expected. So this truly was nothing more to her other than a dream.
Crossing her arms, she murmured, "Hah, I’m probably so upset with you that you’re even here in my dreams."
"You’re upset with me?" he inquired with those solemn eyes of his. "Why?"
Mineah suddenly felt uneasy as Nikolai quickly closed the remaining gap between them. He then firmly held onto her chin, preventing her from looking away from him.
"What’s wrong?" he questioned once more.
