“It’s been two months since we last met. Have you and Chu Xianning made any progress?”
Luo Yueguan asked indifferently, as if she already anticipated the answer and just wanted to irritate him.
“There hasn’t been any progress,” Jiang Huai replied innocently.
As for progress, Jiang Huai felt he had made a significant step forward, but that was a secret between him and his master, a secret he couldn’t tell Luo Yueguan.
“Your wedding with Qingyu is next year. Are you going to cling to your master like a mangy dog until then?”
“I’ve talked it over with Qingyu. Aunt Luo needn’t worry; I know my limits.”
“You’d better,” Luo Yueguan huffed, turning her face away.
Jiang Huai said nothing more, simply leaning back in his chair, letting the cool breeze of the courtyard brush against his skin.
After returning to the courtyard, Luo Yueguan undid the hair accessory that held her hair, letting her black locks lazily cascade down. Her delicate, fair feet were hidden under her skirt, only revealing a glimpse when she crossed her legs.
Luo Yueguan’s gaze returned to the distant moon, her eyelashes slightly lowered.
