Jiang Huai suddenly realized how agonizing the wait had been.
He had been waiting in the courtyard for the time it takes two, maybe three incense sticks to burn, when Wen Wanwan finally emerged from the bathhouse in the back.
She had changed into a white Taoist robe, which concealed her figure completely, revealing only a glimpse of her ankles. The robe was so wide that it hid even the curves of her body, but her cheeks were still coldly beautiful, like a fairy under the moonlight.
She stood obediently in front of Jiang Huai, holding a dark iron sword.
“So… I’ll start practicing my swordplay now.”
“Mhm.”
Jiang Huai sat there, watching her intently as she once again tried to perform a Slashing the Mist.
To Wen Wanwan’s surprise, using Slashing the Mist seemed much easier after opening up those two acupuncture points. Ripples of spiritual energy spread through the air, and after many attempts, she swung what she considered her best sword strike.
Perhaps in the eyes of Senior Brother Jiang Huai, she still looked like a clumsy child, but when she turned around, his eyes were full of approval.
“Very good, you’ve got the hang of it in just a day or two. Keep practicing, and you’ll gradually find your own sword intent. Cultivating swordsmanship can’t be rushed. It’s okay to take it slow.”
Jiang Huai always liked to break down cultivation into a video game mode, where cool sword moves were skills and cultivation level was the mana bar. A high mana bar is useless without skills, and even the coolest skills are nothing if you don’t have enough mana. Both complement each other.
