“That’s not true,” Jiang Huai shook his head.
“You… are sulking with me… not obedient…”
Chu Xianning’s voice was unclear whether it was resentful or aggrieved, but Jiang Huai, used to her drunken state, chose to ignore her and just led her by the hand towards the room. However, Chu Xianning seemed too weak to walk and stumbled towards the ground, and Jiang Huai caught her in his arms.
Chu Xianning then closed her eyes again, seemingly about to fall asleep.
Jiang Huai looked at her snow-white cheeks, her tender lips still glistening, not sure if it was saliva from her drunken sleep.
