Chapter 535: Escape and Encirclement
Kakashi understood perfectly; Sasuke's appearance couldn't have been timed worse – right in the middle of the Five Kage Summit.
This put Naruto and the others in a terrible predicament, having to face both Danzo's schemes and the threats from the other Kage. It was truly a difficult situation.
Humans struggled with empathy. Those who had been with Sasuke for a long time understood his nature and goals.
But the Raikage and the others didn't know. In their eyes, only an enemy village fugitive who had attacked their village, kidnapped or killed their family, had appeared.
Facing such an enemy, what reason was there for mercy?
After the Raikage arrived, he didn't immediately kill Sasuke but instead made a request to Konoha. That was already very polite.
So Kakashi understood that both sides were currently emotional and couldn't be reasoned with.
The only way was to take Sasuke away first, avoid Kumogakure's pursuit, and then slowly look for a solution.
Otherwise, Naruto definitely wouldn't let go of Sasuke and would continue fighting the Raikage.
Later, if there were casualties on either side, a new war between Konoha and Kumogakure might break out again...
