Chapter 358: The Fourth Hokage
"You want me to apologize? You? Are you even qualified?"
The woman's derisive laughter cut through the tension, and her words were as sharp as they were infuriating.
"This woman is really arrogant. I want to punch her," someone muttered in the crowd.
"Akatsukikage is really calm—she must be the king of bastards."
"If we don't fight now, it'll be hard to justify."
The onlookers, eager for chaos, egged both sides on, their excitement palpable. None of them understood the depth of Yahiko's psychological scars or the weight he carried. If they had, they might have reconsidered their eagerness for a fight.
"Hiding in the shadows and refusing to show yourself," Yahiko said after a long pause, his expression unreadable. "Are you so afraid to reveal your true face? Or is there something about yourself you can't bear to face?"
His words lacked venom, carefully chosen to avoid provoking too much. The frustration on his face, however, was evident, causing Nagato and the others to stifle their laughter. If he says too much, he'll pay for it later; if he says too little, it won't land. Being a leader really is tough.
"I have nothing to hide," the woman replied coolly, shifting her position and crossing her legs with a carefree demeanor. "I'm just afraid that taking off my mask will scare you to death."
"Haha, let's see who you really are," Yahiko shot back. "Causing trouble in my Akatsukigakure comes with a price. You walked in here on your own, but you'll be leaving on a stretcher."
As the words left his mouth, Yahiko's thoughts clicked into place. This had to be Sensei's doing. Talk about perfect timing—just when you need a pillow, someone hands you one. Steeling himself, he raised his hand and hurled three kunai.
