“Give me a moment to prepare.”
“Sure…Shimizu-san, are you actually nervous about holding hands?”
“I told you I’m not!”
“If that’s the case, then we should be able to hold hands right away, right?”
“Ugh..”
Shimizu-san had a look of agony for a few seconds, but then, as if making some kind of decision, she met my gaze.
“…I am…”
“Sorry, I couldn’t hear you. Could you say that one more time?”
“I said I’m nervous! I’ve never held hands with anyone, so of course I’d be a little nervous, no matter who it is.”
So Shimizu-san hadn’t experienced holding hands with anyone before. It seemed that my guess was off.
The moment I realized that, the prickly feeling I had seemed to vanish.
