Chapter 51: Doubts
Days passed like a summer breeze since the enrollment ceremony and soon it was the day Damien and Ahara had been waiting for all December—the day to go shopping for Damien’s school stationery.
But they had to get money from the bank in the Draconic region first.
That’s why Damien was dressed in heavy warm clothing and sipping his tea, ready for the cold he was about to face where they were headed. Charles had warned the siblings that the city they were planning on visiting would be snowing at this time of the year—which meant they had to be prepared for it, only, Ahara was taking too long to finish her preparations.
’Should I go and check up on her or not?’
Before Damien could make a decision though, a knock sounded on their doorbell, making him pause from sipping his tea. He didn’t need to guess who it was, after all, he was the one who asked the man to come—and the way he knocked was now but familiar irritating music to Damien’s ears.
"Come in," the lad yelled before the door opened with a slight creak and thud on the wall.
In walked Kingston, covered in fur that looked like a coat—but Damien knew better than to think so. The wolves had a rather good trait that allowed them to make the hairs of their bodies appear or retract at will. It worked well in the cold weather like the one Damien and his family were about to visit—a natural coat that didn’t cost a thing—except for aura.
"She isn’t done yet is she?" Kingston asked.
Damien rolled his eyes. "I go behind my sister’s back to tell you about her whereabouts so you can fix whatever beef you two have and the first thing you think of when you see me is her?"
