"D rank vampire for Fangpeak!"
The stadium went mute after the fairy’s announcement. Damien had expected this kind of reaction, after all, everyone must have wanted to hear the Vampire Queen’s daughter’s rank so badly after Vestin’s B-rank aura value shocked them. However, they must’ve expected Eden’s aura to be just as shocking—only to be surprised in all the wrong ways when her aura value reflected a measly 95 on the pillar, with a dark blue color to reflect her D-rank.
Damien anxiously glanced at the princess. The poor girl’s eyes were opened wide, her view fixated directly on her aura value. She stared dumbfounded at the gem, not even blinking or showing any kind of reaction to her poor result.
’ I’ve never seen her looking so shocked,’ Damien thought to himself, only to scratch the thought the next moment when he saw her mouth corners curling up.
’Is she smiling in this situation? What kind of person would smile with this much pressure on them?’
But that wasn’t all that the princess did. She suddenly jumped, drawing everyone’s attention as she turned around mid-jumping.
"D-rank baby!" Eden yelled at the crowd, pumping her fist and punching the air aggressively, her fangs showing from how wide her grin was.
Damien couldn’t help but just blink at her. Either she was faking her happiness out of desperation or she was trying to hype herself up after not receiving any cheers from the crowds—but her antics worked either way.
Someone from the Fangpeak cardinal below the Phoenix statue suddenly squealed, a sound that came out sounding more like a wolf howl. They did it once, then again, and by the third time, the howls turned into three of four before the entire cardinal suddenly joined in the cheering. Even Ambrose whom Damien had thought had already gone suddenly appeared from behind the podium, pulling Eden into a hug and soon leading her to their assigned cardinal.
’Sly little bitch,’ Damien cursed at her back, remembering how she had warned him not to reveal that he knows the royal family.
"And now she’s going to be the prime target for bullies," Yong blubbered, sighing to himself as he watched the two girls walk away.
