Chapter 27: Doing what has to be done
"Ouch!"
"Bit your tongue with your fangs again?" Ahara asked her brother, smiling as she handed him a napkin so he could wipe the blood off and continue eating his breakfast.
Ever since waking up with fangs two days ago, Damien had felt rather funny. Everything about his body was now different, especially his teeth and eyes. They had gotten sharper. He could even keep up with the movements a bee in motion now.
Moreover, his aura value had increased dramatically. Ahara had told him it was now equivalent to that of an E-ranked Gibbit.
After the Vampire lord gave his training program to her five days ago, his sister made a few modifications, to his diet mostly. He began feeling the changes in his body right on the second day, and by the third, his Vampiric features manifested.
If only he had a way to record Ahara's reaction when she saw the small fangs grown in his mouth the morning after she assigned him a rank. Unfortunately, phones didn't work in Gibbous. They didn't have the electricity to charge them once the battery died, not that they needed them anyway.
Gibbits had aura.
It allowed them to do most of the stuff technology could do in the human world, like communicating. Ahara had brought an oblong for Damien, and she had taught him how to use it.
Thanks to the device, his flow state lessons had been a bit bearable because using an oblong required just as much concentration for a weak Gibbit like the boy.
"I still can't get used to chewing with these animal teeth," Damien complained, looking at his tongue on the silver cup containing his juice.
Like the rest of this house, the cup was fancy-looking and posh. It took only a day of touring around the two-story building with Ahara for Damien to know what kind of personalities his parents had when they were alive.
