Transmigrating as an Extra, But the Heroine Has Regressed?!

Chapter 193: Secrets Beyond the Door!

Around him, students began to collapse, unable to withstand the two hours.

The weaker ones were dragged out by instructors on standby. Only a few managed to hold on until the end—Jin, Edwin, Cecelia, and Thorian, the rank five student.

When the time was up, the doors opened, and the students stumbled out into the sunlight.

Steam rose off their bodies as they left the frozen chamber.

Sylvia said. "Remember this pain. The world outside the academy is harsher than anything I put you through."

Then, finally, she dismissed them for lunch.

Inside the dining hall, exhausted students collapsed onto benches. Plates clattered, food piled high. Hunger overpowered exhaustion.

Kael ate as though he hadn’t eaten in days. Plate after plate disappeared in front of him, his fork moving faster than his thoughts. Some stared in disbelief.

"Oyee, are you a student or a starving beast?!" some of them exclaimed, clutching his stomach after barely finishing his second plate.

"Do you want to eat the entire academy kitchen?"

Kael wiped his mouth calmly. "I need strength."

Then again "If he eats like this every day, the academy will go bankrupt.", someone near him said though kael was sitting alone at the other side of the table.

Kael ignored them both, continuing until he finally leaned back with a sigh, his hunger momentarily satisfied.

Some students whispered about Elysia’s incredible endurance, others about Edwin’s pride.

But Kael wasn’t listening. His gaze drifted out the window, where the afternoon sun hung heavy in the sky.

The bell rang, and the tired group of first-years dragged themselves into their next class.

Within twenty minutes, everyone was seated in Professor Orwen’s classroom.

The old man stood at the front with his calm voice echoing across the room.

"Now, as I explained, the flow of mana is like a river. If you try to force it, the river will overflow and break its banks. But if you guide it gently, it will move smoothly, carrying strength into both your body and your weapon."

Most students tried their best to follow his words, scribbling notes or nodding carefully. But not everyone.

Veyla sat at her desk with her cheek resting on her palm, her eyelids drooping. She hadn’t slept all night from repairing the ground, and even her healing magic couldn’t fix exhaustion.

Within minutes, her breathing softened. She had fallen asleep.

Beside her, Jin leaned back in his chair, arms crossed, his head tilted. His loud snore broke the quiet atmosphere of the class.

A few students snickered. "Look at those two... already sleeping in Orwen’s class."

Professor Orwen didn’t see them sleeping.

Kael, however, was wide awake. His eyes burned red again, not from his sword this time but from sheer exhaustion and strain.

He kept blinking, trying to force them back to normal, but the redness lingered. He didn’t want anyone to notice.

The classroom was still until a knock suddenly came at the door.

Knock knock.

Everyone turned their heads.

"Come in," Professor Orwen said.

The door opened, and the room seemed to hold its breath.

It was Selena.

The second-year beauty stepped inside, her long hair catch the sunlight from the window.

She didn’t even have to try, yet all the boys in the class instantly sat straighter.

Some brushed their hair back. Others tried to flex subtly as if she would notice their muscles.

"Selena!" whispered one of the boys, eyes sparkling.

"She’s so pretty..." another muttered, adjusting his tie.

Kael frowned slightly. He wasn’t surprised she was here, but the timing made him uneasy.

Professor Orwen raised a brow. "What brings you here, Miss Selena?" His tone was polite but slightly puzzled.

Selena’s eyes scanned the room once before settling directly on Kael. She ignored the stares from the other boys and spoke clearly.

"I am here to talk with Kael. Will you excuse us for a moment?"

The classroom erupted in murmurs.

"Kael?!"

"She came for him?!"

"No way, that’s unfair!"

Professor Orwen didn’t seem bothered. He simply nodded. "Very well. Kael, go with her."

Kael stood slowly, aware of every jealous pair of eyes drilling into his back. He could feel the heat of their anger like a fire.

As he walked past, he caught snippets of whispers.

"Why him?"

"He’s not even that good-looking."

"Did he bribe her or something?"

Kael didn’t react, though Jin’s loud snore almost made him laugh. At least Jin wasn’t awake to add fuel to the fire.

Elysia, sitting quietly near the front, narrowed her eyes. She clenched her fist under the desk, her thoughts sharp.

(So, it begins... Did he already start his plan? He’s moving faster than I thought. I should make my plan too, before he gets too far.)

Her gaze followed Kael as he stepped outside with Selena.

The hallway outside was quieter, the noise of the jealous first-years fading behind the door.

Kael leaned against the wall casually, though his mind was still heavy from the lack of sleep.

"So," he said simply. "What’s this about? Did you find anything about it?"

Selena studied him for a moment. "You don’t waste time, do you? Straight to the point."

"I’m tired," Kael admitted. "So yes, straight to the point."

Selena chuckled softly, her tone almost teasing. "You really are different from the others. No flattery, no nervousness. That’s what makes you interesting, Kael."

Inside the classroom, some students pressed their ears to the door, trying to hear what was going on.

"Can you hear anything?"

"No, just muffled voices... damn it."

Professor Orwen glanced at them and coughed loudly. "Back to your seats."

The eavesdroppers scattered immediately.

Meanwhile, Kael crossed his arms, his gaze still steady.

"Selena. You came all the way here just to tell me I’m ’interesting’? Just kidding haha... "

She smiled.

"There’s something. related to the Lost Land and the Ancient Coin you asked me about yesterday."

Kael’s eyes flickered. "You found something already?"

"Not exactly," Selena replied, lowering her voice. "But I may have a lead. One of the senior students has a book... an old record that mentions the Lost Land. If I can get it, I’ll know more."

Kael nodded slowly. "I see."

Selena tilted her head slightly, watching him with sharp eyes. "But tell me something first. Yesterday... when your sword changed and your eyes turned red. What exactly happened to you?"

Kael hesitated. His hands tightened at his side. "That... wasn’t normal, was it?"

"No," she said softly. "It wasn’t."

"Let’s discuss the count first anyway. About the coins, I have researched but couldn’t find anything about it. But about the lost land, we should get the book from the senior."
