Kael gave a small smile. But before he could respond further, footsteps approached.

Elysia had walked over between him and her. She stopped beside Cecelia, her eyes flickering briefly toward Kael.

"Cecelia," she said quietly but firmly, "come with me. I need to talk to you."

Cecelia blinked, confused. "Right now?"

"Yes," Elysia said, already reaching out to take her hand.

She gently tugged Cecelia away, not even glancing at Kael again.

Kael stood frozen, watching them go.
