Edwin stared at the glowing rune in his palm.
"You should activate it, absorb whatever energy lies within, and learn what it has to offer," Mr. Orwen said firmly.
Then he stepped back and smiled faintly. "Be careful. This is no small thing."
Edwin nodded slowly, gripping the rune tightly.
"...Thank you, sir."
Without another word, he turned and left the office, the Spirit Rune glowing softly in his hand.

After leaving Professor Orwen’s office, Edwin walked quietly through the academy grounds.
The sky outside was bright, and most students were busy training on their day.
He didn’t speak to anyone as he made his way to his training room.
He closed the door behind him, locking it.
