Aoko blinked, a dazed expression on her face as she looked at Alice.
"Huh? You found him?" After a long moment, Aoko, having recovered from her shock, looked at Alice with bewilderment. "Didn’t we already decide it was just our imagination?"
"No. I met the witness from last night at Reien Academy today," Alice said, her tone flat.
"Tsk, what a coincidence." Aoko took off her warm overcoat and, with a grave expression, walked to the sofa opposite Alice and sat down. "Well, Alice, which student or teacher was it?"
"It was a parent, here for the parent-teacher conference," Alice said calmly.
"Which magus was it? The old monster we predicted?" Aoko’s gaze sharpened, her expression grave.
She had good reason to be serious. A master who could hide from Alice’s barrier without a sound was not someone she could handle.
And a magus who trespassed on a ley line without permission was usually there to plunder it. After all, ley lines were a rare commodity.
"Take a look at this report." Alice reached out and gently pushed a stack of documents on the tea table towards Aoko.
