The dense swarm blanketed the water's surface like a dark fog, their countless mandibles clicking menacingly as they fixed their gaze on Tokyo.
Locusts were Melqart's servants. He was the god of storms, the god of the sea, the god of the sun, and the god of both bountiful harvests and devastating famine. Locusts, which devoured crops and laid waste to the land, were symbols of his power and wrath.
"Hmm?" Melqart suddenly looked up at the darkened sky.
The once dim sky churned, clouds swirling into a massive vortex that stretched across the Kanto region of Japan. The vortex spun relentlessly, its center radiating a terrifying pressure, like the roar of an ancient king.
