Chapter 256: As Formal as Meeting Your Future Mother-in-Law
Upon hearing this, Munni glanced at Yu Chen out of the corner of her eye and asked, "What plan is this?"
Yu Chen didn’t answer Munni directly. Her smile was tinged with mystery, and a hint of excitement flickered in her arched brows and eyes, "You’ll find out soon enough."
For some reason, Munni found her smile a bit creepy, and an inexplicable sense of foreboding arose in her heart, "What little scheme are you up to again?"
Yu Chen’s smile slightly restrained, knowing she was too obvious. She worried that if Munni continued to ask, she would reveal her secret, so she impatiently waved her hand, "You’re overthinking it, hurry up and wash up and change your clothes, I’ll go make breakfast for you."
"Make me a sandwich, some milk, and wash some strawberries while you’re at it, thanks."
"Got it, just hurry. Remember to change into something formal, as if you’re going to meet your future mother-in-law."
Yu Chen’s reminder caused Munni to pause mid-step. She turned around on the stairs to look at Yu Chen standing below, her eyes brimming with amused laughter, "What’s this, have you finally decided to introduce me to a young hunk?"
The mysterious smile surfaced again on Yu Chen’s face, "You’ll find out soon. Hurry up."
Munni shrugged, truly feeling that her smile was too eerie.
Once Munni washed up, put on makeup, and changed clothes, Yu Chen had already prepared her breakfast. When Munni entered the kitchen, Yu Chen openly looked her up and down.
"Well, you’re quite formal. Looks like you can’t wait to meet your future mother-in-law."
Munni rolled her eyes and sat down at the dining table, muttering, "What are you keeping me in suspense for?"
"You’ll find out soon enough." As she finished speaking, Yu Chen glanced at her wristwatch and urged, "Eat quickly, we’re going to be late."
Munni took a sip of milk and also glanced at the time, 9:50, "Who did we meet so early in the morning?"
Yu Chen didn’t answer; she sat across from Munni, propping her chin with one hand while watching Munni eat. "I’m telling you, at this time before, you’d have already been busy for most of the morning. How come after the divorce your life’s become so unplanned?"
"You just had two kids, why do you look like a grandma with two granddaughters?"
"Because I’m worried for you. Such a good girl, how did you become so lazy?"
Munni pursed her lips without answering, and Yu Chen urged her once again to finish breakfast quickly and head out.
With her persistent urging, they finally left Munni’s house at 10:10.
Yu Chen volunteered to be the driver today. After Munni teased, "You haven’t been back to G City for so long, do you still remember the way?" she had no objection and let her go ahead.
Yu Chen’s lips curled into a confident and arrogant smile, "Of course, put your seatbelt on and sit tight."
As soon as Munni buckled up, Yu Chen stepped on the accelerator, and the car quickly sped out of the parking lot.
The car raced swiftly down the street, Munni sat tensely in the passenger seat. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught the sight of Yu Chen’s bold smile beside her, silently thinking... thank goodness this woman doesn’t live in G City anymore, otherwise how many people would her driving skills endanger!
As the car neared their destination, Munni noticed something was off, and suddenly it dawned on her where Yu Chen was eagerly trying to take her so early in the morning.
