The Art of Pursuing: The Unyielding Ex-wife

Chapter 247: Finally Let Me Stand Up for You Once

The man in front was enraged by her insulting words and raised his hand to slap her.

But the friend standing behind the man, upon seeing Qin Muni’s face clearly, suddenly had a flash of panic in his eyes.

He hurriedly reached out to stop the man who wanted to hit Qin Muni, stepping forward slightly to mumble something in the man’s ear.

The man’s face immediately turned very ugly, and he angrily put down his hand, glaring at Qin Muni with a warning look, "You got lucky."

He gritted his teeth as he uttered these four words before leaving.

Just as the two turned to leave, they suddenly found Yuan Chengmo standing behind them, having appeared out of nowhere.

Yuan Chengmo’s face was terribly gloomy, like a sky full of dark clouds before a storm, making people instinctively feel a bit of fear.

His gaze swept between the two men, finally landing on the man who had just pushed Qin Muni, and he asked coldly, "Did you push her?"

The man sneered, arrogantly saying, "Yeah, I did, so what?"

A cold and sharp smile slowly appeared at the corner of Yuan Chengmo’s mouth, "So what?"

As the last note fell, he swung his fist without hesitation, throwing a furious punch right at the man’s face.

Qin Muni stood by the wall, her eyes widening in shock as she watched what was unfolding before her.

This was probably the first time in nearly ten years of knowing Yuan Chengmo that she had seen him so furious and the first time she had seen him hit someone.

The sudden punch pushed the man back two steps, and he clutched his aching cheek, his eyes blazing with anger.

He lunged forward with a quick step, extending his hand to throw a punch at Yuan Chengmo, but Yuan Chengmo was prepared, easily intercepting his fist and landing another punch on the man’s abdomen.

The friend of the beaten man quickly stepped forward to support him, gently advising, "Let it go, let’s leave first."

The man pressed his lips together tightly, glaring at Yuan Chengmo with venomous eyes, as if eager to tear him to pieces.

After a few seconds of weighing his options, the man decided to leave with his friend, but not without throwing a parting shot at Yuan Chengmo, "You better watch out!"

Once the two of them turned and left, Yuan Chengmo quickly walked up to Qin Muni, his face no longer cold and aloof, but replaced with a hint of concern.

"Munni, are you okay?"

Qin Muni nodded, "I’m fine."

Yuan Chengmo considerately extended a hand to support the slightly tipsy Qin Muni, "Let’s go, I’ll take you home."

"Okay."

Qin Muni’s steps were still a bit unsteady, and she walked extremely slowly, so Yuan Chengmo also slowed his pace to match hers.

"How did you get into it with them?"

Qin Muni instinctively glanced sideways at Yuan Chengmo next to her; the corridor was quite dimly lit, and she couldn’t clearly see his expression.

She answered honestly, "I heard them talking about you."

Even if she didn’t say it directly, Yuan Chengmo could guess that what those two said was certainly nothing good.

"Let them talk, it won’t hurt me. How could you, a woman, just face them head-on like that? What if you got hurt?"

But Qin Muni was indifferent, lightly curling her lips into an unbridled, proud smile on her beautiful face, "You always stand up for me. This time, I finally got to stand up for you!"

Her willful words made Yuan Chengmo unable to suppress a smile, and he glanced down slightly at Qin Muni.

Even in the darkness, her beautiful, almond-shaped eyes were as bright and dazzling as stars, and he could even sense a trace of delighted amusement deep in her eyes.
