Chapter 1087 - 1114: I’m Pregnant (2)
These days have been all about big news, and the three of us basically head out together and take different actions—it can be considered an efficient team effort.
Phillip Hanson casually thought as he drove the car out of the parking space.
Camden River got into the passenger seat, and Mia Ginger opened the car door and sat in the backseat, pressing her hand on her chest, feeling anxious and short of breath. She turned sideways and rolled down half the window, letting the morning breeze blow in to get some fresh air.
But she hadn’t gotten much air before Phillip Hanson started speeding up.
Mia Ginger closed the window, leaned back in the seat, listened to the two up front discussing the interview, and before long, she had her eyes closed and fell asleep.
Phillip Hanson glanced back through the rearview mirror, thinking she was just resting her eyes. But when he drove the car outside the school, he realized she had fallen asleep like that, feeling both amused and helpless.
Camden River called out twice before Mia Ginger opened her eyes, looking confused, "Are we there?"
"Get out quickly," Camden River reminded.
Mia Ginger got out of the car, and the bright sun shone on her, causing her to sway to one side.
"Hey," Phillip Hanson quickly grabbed her arm, noting her clammy skin, frowned, and said, "You’re either suffering from heatstroke or low blood sugar. That’s enough; reporting news shouldn’t be this exhausting. You rest outside now."
"I..."
"Just rest," Camden River also glanced down at her, saying, "If you faint later, it’ll be more troublesome."
Mia Ginger was slightly stunned and said helplessly, "Alright, I won’t go in for now. If you need me, just call."
"The car’s stuffy, go to the milk tea shop across the street. We’ll call you when we’re done," Phillip Hanson suggested.
Mia Ginger nodded.
She watched the two walk towards the school entrance, covered her mouth with an arm to yawn, and stepped into the milk tea shop across the street. She ordered a cup of lemon water, sat on a chair to rest, and suddenly felt nauseous.
It was ten in the morning, and the milk tea shop’s young lady had just opened up. Mia was the first customer.
After serving her, the young lady sat at the counter to eat breakfast. Breakfast consisted of two buns stuffed with pork and spring onions, and Mia Ginger, smelling the aroma, couldn’t stand it and quickly left the shop.
Standing at the roadside for a while, she drank water to suppress the feeling, gradually feeling better.
Just as she let out a sigh, raising her eyes, a small advertisement on the side of the street caught her attention. The bold black font showed, "Painless abortion just 399 yuan!"
Uh!
Mia Ginger stared at that line of text in a daze.
Gradually realizing, she started recalling the date of her last period around the end of July.
Could she be pregnant?
The thought surfaced, and she couldn’t suppress it.
She had been thinking about kids these days and often surfing the internet on her phone, gaining some understanding of early pregnancy symptoms. The more she recalled now, the more it seemed likely.
Pregnant, huh?
Mia Ginger stood on the bustling street, watching the cars speeding by, her expression changing, quite complicated.
After a while, checking the time on her phone, she walked toward a pharmacy by the roadside.
There were no customers in the pharmacy either, so she stood in front of the display shelf for a while, gritted her teeth, picked up two pregnancy test papers, and went to the checkout counter, muttering, "Ring it up."
The cashier looked at her more than once, "Sixty-two."
"Thanks." Mia Ginger paid, pocketed the two pregnancy test sticks, and left.
Both Phillip Hanson and Camden River wouldn’t be out anytime soon, so she didn’t call them. Checking Baidu Maps, she noticed there was a Pizza Hut a few minutes down the main street and headed directly there.
In the restroom, she tested twice, both showed two lines.
Pregnant?
