Chapter 314 - 320 Zuri Ginger Collapses (6)
"I just want some sweet and sour ribs."
"Haha, as soon as you talk about eating, it’s all fish and meat."
A few doctors along with two nurses from the department walked lively ahead, while Mia Ginger and Koa Jackson lagged behind.
Mia glanced at Lilian Jackson’s figure in front of them and felt a bit uneasy, muttering quietly, "Does she often invite you to lunch?"
"Her?" Koa Jackson feigned ignorance, "Who?"
"You know... Lilian." Mia clutched his arm tightly, looking frustrated.
"Oh." Koa glanced down at her, remained silent for a while, then chuckled softly.
"What are you laughing at?" Mia fumed.
"Are you jealous?"
"I!" Mia froze, puffing her cheeks in a huff, "No."
"No?" Koa raised his tone slightly.
"Uh!" Mia mumbled, then couldn’t help but ask, "Do you really often eat together?"
"No." Seeing her genuinely anxious, Koa squeezed her fingers, brought them to his lips for a kiss, patiently explained, "I don’t have the habit of dining alone with female colleagues, does that satisfy you?"
"Really?"
"Of course." Koa insisted, "Don’t let your mind wander, causing yourself distress. Like what Kari said yesterday, did you really believe it? Did you cry secretly in the dorm?"
"No." Mia had forgotten Kari’s words, her face turned red as she argued.
"Good, don’t believe him in the future." Koa didn’t press further, just advised gently.
"Mm." Mia smiled and felt happy, rubbing her cheek against his arm.
Soon, everyone arrived at the restaurant, chatting and laughing.
They picked a private room and sat down.
The waiter came in with several menus, everyone discussed and decided on their orders. Koa turned to Mia, "What would you like to drink? Is lemon iced tea okay?"
"Sure." Mia smiled.
"Should I order you some soup dumplings?"
"Sure."
"For dessert? How about cheesecake? You haven’t had breakfast, should I get a slice for you to start with?"
"Sure."
Mia said "Sure" three times in a row, nodding as she spoke, appearing extremely well-behaved.
The doctors sitting beside couldn’t help but chuckle, with someone teasing, "Doctor Jackson, where on earth did you find such a gem?"
Koa chuckled lowly, "She’s quite shy, isn’t used to teasing."
As he spoke, he couldn’t resist reaching over with his hand hanging by his side, gently grasping Mia’s hand, lightly stroking her palm.
Mia’s heart couldn’t help but race.
Excited and sweet.
Her fair and delicate face flushed rosily with shyness, making her skin seem even thinner and tender, carrying an arresting youthful beauty, most charming were her eyes, moist and bright as a fawn’s, gazing at Koa, as if affection and longing might overflow.
A young girl’s springtime crush, indeed the most endearing.
The older doctors, seeing her, couldn’t help but feel an urge to cherish her.
Mia got up to use the bathroom.
Someone sighed to Koa, "The young girl loves deeply, Koa, you must treat her well."
"Absolutely, you can’t hide the love overflowing from her eyes. Good girls like this are rare these days, must cherish them dearly."
"Exactly, exactly." A female nurse who hadn’t spoken joined in with emotion, "I feel so tender-hearted watching her, reminds me of my school days when I secretly admired a senior, it was so bittersweet, truly torturous."
