Lilian Jackson warmed the teacup and poured him tea.
Koa Jackson glanced down, picked up the teacup, took a sip, then put it down again, and said to Lydia Williams, "She's only nineteen, still a child. It's only right for me to be more understanding."
What did he mean by that?
He was actually defending Mia Ginger!
Lydia Williams gave a dry laugh, "I just didn't want you to feel wronged?"
"Thank you, Mom." Koa Jackson didn't say more, lowering his head again to taste the tea, his gaze fleetingly landing on Lilian Jackson's wrist, pausing briefly on her watch.
"Regardless, there's no reason to go back on an engagement once it's set. Girl Mia was lost for seventeen years, which wasn't her fault, and adapting to her current identity and life naturally takes time," the Old Master Jackson looked at Koa Jackson, "She's only nineteen, and your age isn't exactly young, how about an engagement first?"
"Isn't it too early to be engaged?" Zane Jackson, who had been silent, suddenly spoke, "She's been back with the Ginger Family for a month now, and there hasn't even been a formal introductory banquet to establish her status. In my opinion, there's no need to rush the engagement."
"Indeed," Lydia Williams also laughed, "After being lost for over a decade, I'm sure Charlotte and the others would be reluctant to let their daughter marry so quickly again."
"What does Koa think?" The Old Master, after a moment of thought, turned to Koa Jackson.
"We really shouldn't rush, Grandpa," Koa Jackson replied in a much gentler tone, "As you said, she needs time to adapt to this identity, we shouldn't pressure her too much."
