Chapter 366 - 264 Morning Rise
"What are you doing!" Qin Lan’s scream early in the morning woke Chen Xin up directly.
Chen Xin, woken up by the scream, felt a bit confused and sensed that he was holding someone in his arms. He vaguely remembered that Qin Lan had crawled into his sleeping bag last night, but now Qin Lan was speaking, so who was he holding?
Chen Xin squinted his eyes hard, a bit unsure of the situation. He opened his eyes and looked to the side, only to see Qin Lan sleeping in the next sleeping bag, looking at him with a face full of anger, and yelling at him, "What are you doing!"
This left Chen Xin a bit puzzled. Qin Lan was beside him, so who was in his arms...?!
Chen Xin realized, looked down into his arms, and sure enough, Mo Qingyan was shrinking in his embrace with a blushing face, glanced up at Chen Xin, and seemingly out of shyness, buried her face in again.
"Qingyan? How did you end up in my sleeping bag?" Chen Xin wanted to push the person away, but because of the limited space inside the sleeping bag, he couldn’t, so he hurriedly and awkwardly pulled his hands away from Mo Qingyan.
After unzipping the sleeping bag and crawling out, Chen Xin looked at Qin Lan beside him, though his mind was a mess, he was thinking about what exactly happened.
Chen Xin remembered that when he went to sleep last night, Qin Lan was sleeping next to him, Mo Qingyan on the other side of Qin Lan, and the tent lights were always on, making it impossible for someone to crawl into the wrong sleeping bag at night.
Moreover, Chen Xin clearly recalled that even though someone had crawled into his sleeping bag last night, he distinctly felt an icy cold metal hand, making him sober up because Qin Lan’s prosthetic was too cold. It’s something he couldn’t have mistaken.
But why is it now that the person in his sleeping bag has become Mo Qingyan? What exactly happened in between?
Although Chen Xin couldn’t figure out the situation, he could be sure that something deliberately orchestrated happened last night.
Qin Lan, who had been in his arms, couldn’t have been replaced by Mo Qingyan unless Qin Lan had crawled out on her own. If Mo Qingyan hadn’t climbed into his sleeping bag actively, how could she have entered it from a sleeping bag separated by another person?
How exactly did these two change positions last night?
It was because he couldn’t figure this out that Chen Xin suddenly became suspicious.
With his suspicions, Chen Xin’s originally frantic emotions calmed down. He glanced at the still shy Mo Qingyan in the sleeping bag and the angry-faced Qin Lan next to him, suddenly noticing a detail.
Whether it was Qin Lan or Mo Qingyan, Chen Xin had known them for many years, and he was very familiar with their personalities.
Although Mo Qingyan often appeared very outgoing and was quite carefree, similar to a brother towards Chen Xin, Chen Xin knew she was always conservative and reserved about relationships and male-female interactions, so her current shy behavior was a normal response.
But Qin Lan was different. As someone he had been in a relationship with for a long time, Chen Xin understood very well that if he had any infidelity, Qin Lan would have immediately hit him hard, impossible to just calmly ask "what are you doing?"
What particularly caught Chen Xin’s attention was Qin Lan’s hand, which was relaxed at this time. But he clearly remembered, Qin Lan, whenever angry, would unconsciously clench her fists, a subconscious habit she herself wasn’t aware of.
So she wasn’t really angry? Was it just an act?
Thinking of this, Chen Xin seemed to have an understanding, as if he had figured it out. However, he was still unsure if his guess was correct, so he thought of testing them. Collecting himself, he put on a look of sudden realization, composed himself, and then seriously asked Qin Lan and Mo Qingyan, "Whose idea was it?"
As soon as Chen Xin spoke, Mo Qingyan’s face changed immediately, from shy to a bit panicked, while Qin Lan next to her tried to maintain her angry look, pretending to be furious as she said to Chen Xin, "What do you mean, whose idea? Xin, you haven’t explained yet, what exactly is going on! Hurry up and make it clear, what is going on?"
Hearing Qin Lan say this, Chen Xin immediately had a sense of confidence. If it was just a guess before, now he could be certain that what happened was something they planned.
Although Chen Xin didn’t know why Qin Lan and Mo Qingyan did this, he was sure that Qin Lan’s anger was feigned.
So, Chen Xin felt more at ease, but still maintained a serious expression on his face, looking over at Qin Lan: "Don’t you guys know what’s going on? Weren’t you the one who crawled into my sleeping bag last night, Lan? If you didn’t crawl out on your own, how could Qingyan have gotten in? And if you were truly angry, would you ask me to explain what happened? With your personality, I’d be eating a fist right now."
"Are you saying I have a bad temper!" Qin Lan, hearing Chen Xin say this, suddenly wanted to reach out and grab his collar.
"Look at that, that’s precisely what you really look like when you’re angry!" Chen Xin pointed at Qin Lan’s reaching hand, loudly proclaiming her behavior while confidently asking her, "So this was your idea, wasn’t it, Lan?"
Being pointed out by Chen Xin, Qin Lan couldn’t keep up her angry expression, let out a humph, and then asked Chen Xin, "How did you figure it out?"
Mo Qingyan was also embarrassed as she crawled out of Chen Xin’s sleeping bag and sat up straight next to Qin Lan.
"I understand Qingyan; she wouldn’t actively do something like throwing herself at me. On the other hand, you, Lan..." Chen Xin paused here, casting a meaningful glance at Qin Lan before continuing, "If you could see me embarrassed and in a tricky situation, you’d definitely want to prank me."
Hearing Chen Xin’s words, both Qin Lan and Mo Qingyan’s expressions became a bit awkward, unsure of what to say.
Although the situation had proceeded as they planned, the outcome was evidently beyond their expectations, especially being exposed by Chen Xin, putting both of them in quite an awkward position.
However, Chen Xin obviously had no intention of delving deeper into the matter. He fully understood what it meant for the traditionally-minded Mo Qingyan to have spent the night in his arms—it was a clear expression of her feelings.
Qin Lan’s active role in plotting the event clearly indicated she did not oppose Mo Qingyan’s feelings for him, and the two might have already reached some agreement.
Though enjoying the happiness of two lovers should be a delightful thing, and Chen Xin didn’t resist the idea, he just felt that the current scenario wasn’t the right time to address this matter.
