Chapter 57: After modification - 57: Scarcely Any Tea Leaves
When Qin Lan returned with his team, Uncle Ding was already waiting at the door of the private storeroom.
Seeing Qin Lan and the others return with vegetables, he finally nodded to Qin Lan and said, "Xiao Qin, good job. No troubles on the road?"
"Thank you for your concern, Captain. There were no issues along the way. These are the 400 pounds of vegetables exchanged from Chen Xin, 200 pounds of cabbage, and 200 pounds of lettuce. The rest will be delivered to us after his harvest next month." Qin Lan saluted Uncle Ding before reporting on the exchange.
Uncle Ding looked at the vegetables brought back, nodded with satisfaction, and signaled for them to be placed in the private storeroom. He then said to Qin Lan, "Xiao Qin, come with me; I have some matters to ask you about."
Qin Lan nodded, asking no questions, and followed Uncle Ding through the corridor to the meeting room.
The meeting room had now become the office of the special police team. A large table was in the middle, covered with a map of the city, clearly marking all the refugee shelters, with many data and patrol routes indicated.
Around it were several huge file cabinets, even two weapon cabinets, one of which was open, showing the guns inside. Next to the gun cabinet was a large indoor planting box with some green plants growing inside.
Because of his daughter’s connection to Mo Qingyan’s place, Uncle Ding, although the captain of the special police team, was entitled to a room. However, he didn’t take it; instead, he set up a camp bed in the meeting room and pulled up a curtain to make a small divider, using it as his private space.
Uncle Ding took out two teacups from a cabinet beside him, then fumbled for a long time in the small space behind a curtain before pulling out a small can of tea leaves. Opening it, he delicately picked out a few precious tea leaves and put them in the cups.
