Chapter 162: Just another arrogant Mo.
Leaving Mingzhu with her many adoring relatives, Mei Mei left for work. She stopped by a hospital first and saw a child psychologist that would be treating Mingzhu. Then she finally went to the camp where she found a surprising guest, Mo Jiu.
Her presence had stirred up excitement among the guests at the camp, young and old alike. Mo Jiu was Mo Liang’s cousin, the daughter of his aunt. She was one of the people that had benefited the most from Mei Mei’s connections.
Phoenix Ent had not signed her but they had supported her with some resources when she was coming up in the industry. She was now an A list singer but it was not where she wanted to be, Mo Jiu wanted to be more.
She wanted to own stages, break records and have terminals at airports closed when she walked in. She wanted her face on international billboards, magazine shoots on the moon, children named after her and all the fame that would make people fall at her feet and worship her.
From the moment she joined the entertainment business at the age of sixteen, she had been ruthless. She always fought for center stage if she was performing with others. She would snatch microphones from the trembling hands of other hopeful teenagers.
She had an attitude so big and the backing to match it. People were afraid to say no to her or make her wait in line. It helped that she was naturally talented, blessed with a voice that could break the ceiling and silence the crowd. Her signature high note was called celestial, divine, angelic.
Mo Jiu would be an international superstar, a lot of people agreed on this. But her ego!! Her ego was too big to be contained and it was the thing that was holding her back.
Mo Jiu had been out of the country when Mo Liang returned, touring through Europe. She had kept up with the news back at home of course but not allowed it to affect her career. She had landed in the country the day before and she had come to find Mei Mei.
Mei Mei had not seen Mo Jiu for a year and not spoken to her for four years. Ever since she made it big, she had made it clear that the Jun Meilin that had lost her crown of wealth and title of a rich heiress was unworthy to be in her presence.
