"You don’t like my names." Mei Mei’s face fell. All the times that she had said her mother was bad at naming, it seemed she was no different.
"No....no...no." Jingzhe vehemently denied, shaking his hands vigorously. "Those are genius names, Pitch-black is awesome. It sounds like the name of a movie or a super cool actor. And Beans is adorable. As for Yellow and Corn....why don’t we consider something else?"
"Count Barkula." Mei Mei suggested. "He is a dog, he barks and he has sharp teeth like a vampire." She clapped her hands. "oooh, Imperial commander Paw." She threw her head back and laughed loudly. "Mingzhe will be so furious. What about Duke Furrybottom."
Jingzhe worse, Duke Furrybottom!!! Were was Mei Mei pulling these names from?
She stood up, "I got it. If a bat can be called Meow Meow then a dog can be Whiskers."
"Count Barkula it is. Please give him some dignity and also Mingzhe loves Hotel Transylvania. She will be very impressed." Jingzhe suggested.
Mei Mei had to agree on that point, Count Barkula would impress Mingzhe more than Whiskers. Nevertheless she thought it was such a shame that Whiskers could not be used.
Maybe if she got another dog in future, it could be named Whiskers.
"They will be needing a bath, I will take care of it." Jingzhe picked up the box, holding it away from his chest as if he was carrying a bomb that was about to explode at any moment.
"Thank you, I will go and see the trees." She shot him a smile and went in the opposite direction.
It was a small distance from the main gate to where the forest would be so she used a sky float to get there. There were two hours left until lunch, she decided to spend that time planting a few trees as her itinerary as empty. She put on some music and got to work.
