Chapter 83: The young adults.
The camp was supposed to be for children, mostly. And yet, the campers that had made a reservation were not children. They were all adults between their mid twenties to fifties. One even looked older, he was probably approaching eighty.
When Mei Mei met them, her jaw almost dropped to the ground. Behind her, holding a clipboard and wearing a badge that identified him as the director’s assistant Jingzhe was similarly appalled.
Mei Mei looked away from the group to the employees behind them, she tilted her head and raised her eyebrows at the counselor Wu Qing. "You said young adults."
When she heard young adults, Mei Mei had pictured sixteen to eighteen year olds not this age group. What was even more ridiculous than the age was the way they were dressed. Some were wearing oversized hoodies with all the latest animes teenagers loved currently. Some women had styled their hair in two pigtails with childish ribbons holding them up.
The eighty year old or so Mei Mei assumed was chewing gum in an annoying way, with an open mouth like a miscreant.
"Side bar." Mei Mei gestured at Wu Qing.
Jingzhe followed them to form a circle of three.
"You said young adults!" Mei Mei hissed.
Wu Qing was equally exasperated, she shrugged and shook her head. "It was an online reservation, we asked for names and ages of the children which were provided." She accessed the camp website and opened the reservations page, bringing up the information on this group.
