Chapter 43: Thirty divorce lawyers
When all the crying was finished, Mei Mei was taken to a conference room by her sister and aunt. Inside the conference room were thirty people that had been waiting for an hour. They were not mindful of the wait because they were paid by the hour.
All the people in the conference room recognized each other, they were all the best divorce lawyers in the country. Some had been flown in from different cities to attend this meeting.
The one question they all had on their minds but did not dare to ask each other was what the identity of the party looking to divorce was. It had to be someone really powerful and really rich.
When Rose, Manchu and Mei Mei strolled into the room, the lawyers all held their breath at the same time. All three women were big deals, one was Su Manchu from the Su family, the wife of the prime minister.
There was Rose, the CEO of Phoenix group, her husband was from an equally wealthy and powerful family, the Jang family which owned Jang group.
Last was Jun Meilin, daughter of Jun Muyang and Chi Lian. She was almost royalty herself, and she was part of The phoenix group, Jun investments and Jun corporation. She was also one of the founders of Space M and wife of the most famous space pilot in their country.
Any of these three women divorcing was a big deal.
"Thank you all for coming." Manchu said as they sat down. "I will go straight to the point, my niece here is divorcing." She pointed at Mei Mei who was sitting between her and Rose.
"I am guessing that you are all getting a sense of how big a deal this divorce is." Rose said.
