Chapter 182: Teaching Aide
After the banquet lunch, the guests were shown to a large meeting room on the top floor. Unlike the other floors that had been divided into smaller rooms for accommodation, the entire floor was converted into something resembling a classroom.
There were few furnishings, and nobody knew what was going on. Anji quickly excused herself and hurried to her teacher’s side, dragging over a large chalkboard.
"Please settle down and choose a seat," Yan Ping gestured to the floor cushions and low desk. "This should not take long."
Unable to question their eccentric host, the guests took their seats, placing their weapons on the wooden floor beside them. Anji struggled with distributing the textbooks because of her short arms. Eventually, one of the warriors from the White Tiger Sect sitting at the front offered to distribute the heavy books on her behalf.
Once everyone had their copies, Yan Ping formally introduced the compulsory induction course. Living in the Mystical Qilin Sect meant the guests had to know some rules and learn how to use basic spells. After all, not everything was as simple as imbuing qi into a talisman. Learning to identify traps and avoid arrays was an important part of the upcoming war against the demonic cultivators. Prevention was better than cure, and the Mystical Qilin Sect disciples sent to fight this war could only do so much.
"Today’s lesson will be short. Think of it as an introduction for all future cross-collaboration efforts in the upcoming war. As everyone here is a trusted representative, you should know why the Mystical Qilin Sect is finally opening its doors to the outside world and participating in worldly affairs."
Some people understood what Yan Ping was referring to. However, others who came expecting a great fight fest looked lost. Seeing the reactions, Anji assisted her teacher and explained how a past disciple of the Mystical Qilin Sect who left the mountain was colluding with the demonic cultivators.

When I knew him, he always researched the founder’s barrier spell. I don’t know why he changed his heart after he left the Mystical Qilin Sect. However, I will not allow his skills to be used for evil. Whatever Pu Jianming learned was taught by me. Hence, I will now teach everyone his tricks. Lessons about spells and arrays will be held once a week during this period with a teaching aide. Today, Ci Wang will be assisting me. Nobody expected to launch right into the heart of spellcasting taught by the half-sage herself. However, it was a humbling experience that opened many eyes. Anji’s job as a teaching aide was simple. Her teacher might have second sight. However, she was still a blind woman and needed help turning the pages and writing the spell symbols on the chalkboard.
