Seeing that He Zhilan was serious in her response, almost as if she was about to swear to heaven, He Teng finally stopped pursuing the topic. The doctor didn’t prescribe any medication to He Zhilan, and after she woke up, He Teng brought her back to the military base.
Once home, He Teng told He Zhilan to rest well at home, mentioning that he had talked to the translation agency and gotten her two days off. After making sure that He Zhilan was settled, He Teng left the house alone.
Stepping out of the house, He Teng headed to the office with a heavy heart.
"He Teng, how is it? Your wife, she’s alright, isn’t she?" Commissioner Chen Zheng noticed He Teng’s return and quickly approached him with questions.
"Nothing much, I have already brought her home, and she’s resting now," replied He Teng, intending to inquire if Commissioner Chen knew any psychologists, but the question halted on his lips, and he only exchanged a few more pleasantries before heading straight into his office.
He Teng spent over ten minutes alone in his office before directly calling Lin Chan’s office.
Seeing the phone number, Lin Chan thought it was He Zhilan calling, and picked up with a teasing tone, "Oh, Zhilan, what a rare occasion to remember you still have a brother here in the capital, waiting for your call day and night~"
