Stars In His Eyes

Chapter 683: Sharing a Pillow after Divorce 5_1

He Zhilan was making valid points, effectively throwing his own words right back at him. He Teng was quite dumbfounded with no immediate response. He was not a man of many words to begin with, and therefore was at a complete loss in such moments.

"Go rest early," He Zhilan urged He Teng, "I’m tired. These past few days, I’ve been either on a car, or a plane or a train. I’m really exhausted!" She then climbed into bed, lying on her side and leaving more than half the space for He Teng.

After waiting for almost a minute, she heard the rustling sound of He Teng changing his clothes. Soon after, she felt someone lying next to her. He Zhilan turned her back to He Teng, curving the corners of her lips into a secret smile.

Once He Teng was settled, He Zhilan rolled over and laid herself on top of He Teng, looking up at him with a pitiful face, "Brother, my back hurts, the bed is hard, I can’t sleep well. Your body is softer. Can I lay on you?"

He Teng, originally wanting He Zhilan to lie down properly, was left speechless by her expression. Thinking of her back injury, he nodded, "Close your eyes and sleep. You should rest more. It will help your wounds heal faster."

"Hmm!" He Zhilan bobbed her head like smashing garlic. Then, she buried her face into He Teng’s chest, adjusting her position, and with immense satisfaction, patted He Teng’s chest muscles, which were hardly softer than the bed.

Even in the countryside, during the peak of summer, it was much cooler than in the city. But considering two bodies so closely entwined, claiming it wasn’t hot would be a lie, wouldn’t it?

However, despite the heat, neither of them made any extra movements.

He Teng felt it was worth the discomfort to support He Zhilan’s sleep.
