"So you agreed to divorce, what will you do in the future?" Jiang Biyun sighed.
"I really don’t know right now, I’m quite at a loss, I suddenly feel so helpless." He Zhilan shook her head, "I’ve let him down, made him angry, caused him trouble, made him worry needlessly. He no longer trusts me. I think, after divorcing, there’ll be no bonds between us, no obligations to our marriage. Then, maybe, I can slowly make him understand that my love for him is real."
"That seems to be the logic." Chen Xiting nodded, "If he doesn’t trust you, even if you resist divorce, he may suspect your intentions. Trust can be gradually regained over time. For now, it might be best to separate temporarily to build a sound foundation for reconciliation in the future!"
"What nonsense! Are you building a house from the ground up?!" Jiang Biyun glanced at Chen Xiting, signaling her to stop talking nonsense. But after hearing that He Zhilan hadn’t completely given up, Jiang Biyun heaved a sigh of relief, knowing that He Zhilan must be feeling negative because of the blow she’d received.
"Have you eaten? If not, Xiting and I will go get you something, or do you feel like going out with us to clear your head?" Jiang Biyun sighed.
"I’ve lost my appetite, I want to rest for a bit." He Zhilan shook her head, changed into her pajamas, climbed onto her bed without a word, and rolled herself up into her blanket.
Hearing this, Jiang Biyun nodded, "Then rest well, Xiting and I will go out for a walk and will be back soon." With that, Jiang Biyun pulled the bewildered Chen Xiting out of the room and even considerately closed the door gently for He Zhilan.
