Chapter 286: Gu En’s Visit to the Sick 9_1
"He Teng, recuperate well in the hospital. I am being discharged first. However, during this time I am likely to stay in the capital for some rest, and will not return to the army immediately. Should you need anything, you can call my home," Lan Li raised his hand and patted He Teng’s shoulder, not too lightly nor too heavily, "Now, I owe you one more.
"It wouldn’t have mattered if it was you or not, I would still have saved you. Hence, you owe me nothing." He Teng waved his hand, "Go back, consider things carefully. Some people, if you really let go, you might never get a chance again."
Lan Li stiffened slightly. He knew who He Teng was referring to: Ding Jinshi.
However, as he glanced down at Gu En, who was oblivious to their conversation, Lan Li did not say anything. He just said his goodbyes to Gu En and He Teng before leaving.
On the drive back, Gu En sat in the driver’s seat. While driving, she softly hummed along with the music playing in the car. Apparently, she was in a good mood.
Lan Li closed his eyes in the backseat. Suddenly, he opened his eyes and looked over at Gu En who was driving. He asked, "What did you say in He Teng’s hospital room?"
"What could I have said? Commander He and I aren’t familiar with each other, so it would have been awkward to say nothing. To make conversation, who else could I mention other than He Zhilan, whom we both know?" Gu En shrugged, "I thought that blind fellow Lin Deng might also have fallen for He Zhilan. Surprisingly, it turned out that Zhou Hongjin was the blind one. Even more surprisingly, He Zhilan would actually choose to forsake Zhou Hongjin to be with her classmate."
"What do you mean by ’He Zhilan is with her classmate’?" Lan Li asked coldly.
