Chapter 146: About Acting Spoiled 10_1
"Why should I tell you!" He Zhilan flared up like a cat that had its tail stepped on, gave He Teng a resentful glare, then turned her back on him, refusing to acknowledge him. He Teng raised an eyebrow. What on earth had this woman eaten that night?
"Where did I put the hangers I brought from the dorm?" He Teng stopped prying, looked around the room, and asked when he didn’t see the hangers.
"Hangers?" He Zhilan got up, thought for a moment, then walked over to a small cabinet, took out the hangers inside, and handed them to He Teng. "How many do you need? What for?"
"What else is a hanger for if not to hang clothes?" He Teng asked with a laugh before replying, "Three will do."
After He Zhilan handed the hangers over to He Teng, she noticed the basin He Teng had brought from the bathroom was filled with clean clothes. As He Teng reached out to grab the hangers, she abruptly pulled them back. "Why did you wash the clothes yourself? Aren’t you tired after training all afternoon? You could’ve just left them for me to wash!"
He Teng reached out and found nothing. He took a few strides forward and snatched the hangers from He Zhilan’s hand. "The clothes I train in are very dirty, and besides, I’ve always washed my own clothes."
"That was when I wasn’t around, so of course, you had to painstakingly wash them yourself. But now that I am here, you could have just left them to me! I spend the entire day at the receptionist’s desk with nothing to do anyway, so what if they’re a bit dirty? A couple more washes will do the trick!" He Zhilan found it amusing. It seemed like He Teng was not adjusting well to married life, acting as if he were still a bachelor.
Originally standing by the window hanging laundry, He Teng turned his head to look at He Zhilan when he heard her comment, but said nothing. He turned back, hung all the clothes to dry, and only after finishing this task did he speak. "This kind of dirty work, you don’t need to do."
