Chapter 114: THE VIXIANTE PARA (2)
It wasn’t until the heavy doors sealed shut behind them that she finally exhaled the breath she’d been holding.
"That was..." what was the word she wanted? Terrifying? Exhilarating?
She was not sure what feeling it was, just that her heart was pounding in her chest, and her breathing was just a bit heavier.
"Quiet," Haniel cut her off, raising his hand to silence her. His voice was barely above a whisper, and still echoed through the large hall. "The Everwatcher is near."
Arella stilled upon hearing his words, and pressed her palms tightly to the tunic she wore. Her nerves were palpable, and she pressed her nails tightly into her palm. At the very least, the pain grounded her.
The Hall of Eternity stretched before them, a vast chamber lined with towering pillars. The first thing Arella noticed was the sheer vastness of the hall. The space they had walked into stretched endlessly, filled with towering columns that shimmered with shifting golden runes. The air was thick with a heavy, unyielding power—one that settled over her shoulders like a mantle that seemingly pressed her down, as if testing her very presence.
At the very center of the room, on the floor of the heart of the hall, stood a large mirror.
The Archon’s Mirror.
It was enormous.
A towering, circular expanse of silvered glass, framed in gold and radiating an eerie, rippling glow. The golden frame glowed with runes that slithered as if alive. Arella had never seen anything like it.
The Archon’s mirror.
