Chapter 94: THE ATTACK (6) (ARELLA’S POV)
The light that engulfed the garden was too bright. Pain flared through Arella’s vision as she staggered back, instinctively shielding her eyes. A sharp painful ringing filled her ears.
What kind of magic was this?!
"Your Majesty!" Lady Seraphine’s voice was distant, but Arella could feel some urgency in it.
Arella blinked rapidly, her vision swimming as her body tried to adjust to whatever attack had been thrown at her. The moment she could see, and her eyes settled to where the woman had been standing a few seconds prior, she realized that the woman... was gone!
The first male intruder was still struggling against Echo, his face twisting with effort. His weapon had been dropped, useless against the beast’s grip.
On the other hand, the second male intruder was still fighting with Lady Immera, who did not seem to have heard Arella’s instructions to fall back. She seemed to be holding her own quite well, so Arella looked around her, twisting her body and head, searching for the woman intruder.
"Where..." Arella started, but then she felt it.
A presence.
Behind her.
A cold, sharp pressure then slammed into her back.
Pain, searing pain, shot through her side, as she stumbled forward. Her breath hitched as something sharp embedded itself between her ribs, and she could feel unfamiliar magic seep in through her body, mixing with her hold power. She could feel it burn all the way from the injured part of her, to the tips of her fingers.
