Chapter 82: THE DAY OF A SUCCUBUS (2)
A few seconds passed before a soft voice called out, "Come in," from inside. Velmoria pushed the door open and led the other demons inside. Morning light seeped through the tall, arched windows, casting a muted glow across the furniture and silk that adorned the room. The scent of roses was strong.
Solenne and Xyra walked to the adjoined bath chamber to prepare the bath, while Lysia walked to open the curtains to let some light in.
Queen Arella sat at the edge of her massive bed, her blonde hair cascading over her shoulders resembling gold. Her massive wings were spread out behind her as she stretched them out. The feathers glistened in the sunlight, and complemented with her halo, she looked every inch an angel.
She was wearing a long sheer robe with fur at the wrists and shoulders. The strap on the left side hung loosely over her shoulder, and as Velmoria put the dress down on the bed, she could see the marks that littered the queen’s skin.
The demon king, in Velmoria’s mind, was like a dog when with his wife. Even in the way he left hickies all over her skin. It was also obvious that he was trying to make up for not marking the queen by leaving marks that everyone could see.
"Good morning, your majesty," Velmoria called out, her voice respectful as she gave a low bow.
The queen turned and gave her a smile. "Velmoria, good morning. Good morning to you too, Lysia," she addressed the demon who was pouring a glass of water for her and took it from her hands after the glass was full.
Velmoria liked to see the queen’s smile.
Unlike the king, who showed emotion only to the queen, Arella was kind to all of them. She treated her attendants with a warmth that felt foreign in the cold, calculating atmosphere of the demon realm.
