Chapter 75: THE PREPARATIONS (2)
Arella felt her cheeks warm up at the intensity of his gaze. It would not have bothered her before, but now all she could think about was how he had practically confessed his feelings for her.
It might have been the bond talking, but it was still enough to make Arella feel things she had never felt before. She did her best to remain composed, and gave him a twirl, "well. I do think the dress matches me really nicely."
King Varziel’s dimpled smile was all the answer she needed to know that he liked the dress. Velmoria, who was standing a few paces away from King Varziel, seemed to be holding back an amused smirk. Arella rolled her eyes at her then before shifting her attention back to the king.
"I’m picking out a gown for the coronation. Do you think I can wear more than one?" She smoothed out the ribbons of the dress.
"That dress more than suits you, and you can do whatever you want for the coronation." King Varziel said.
It was then that Echo opened an eye, giving Arella a disinterested stare. He gave her a once over, and something that looked like a nod before going back to his nap. Arella took that as acceptance for the dress. She shook her head at her very lazy pet.
"I garner you want to see the other dresses?" Arella gave him a raised brow and a smirk
King Varziel nodded. "Well then, there are two more dresses to try on. Shall we move along?" She gave a nod to Azrathion and his attendants.
The demon seemed to be surprised, and his eyes were wide. Arella realized that she had not told any of them that she may wear one of their gowns for the coronation. Although that was because she had not made that decision then.
One of Azrathion’s helpers nudged him, and he snapped out of whatever reverie he had fallen into and instructed his assistants to get the gown from the mannequin.
Arella returned to the privacy of the partition and allowed Azrathion’s helpers to help her out of the white gown and into the next one. The dramatic black dress with gold embellishments was much more luxurious than it seemed at first. The fabric was even softer than it looked, and the corset hugged her waist snugly without being painfully uncomfortable. It was nothing like the corseted dresses she had worn in the angel realm.
