Chapter 17: THE WEDDING CEREMONY (2)
Once at the end of the hall, Camael handed Arella off to the demon king.
The first thing Arella noticed was their height difference.
The demon king was tall, much taller than Arella and even slightly taller than her father.
The hand that held her gloved one was warm. Tingles travelled up her hand, causing her to forget the slight discomfort of her corset. It was as if the entire world fell away, and it was just the two of them in the room. Arella had never felt such a strong emotion before.
He walked into her bubble even further, and his scent invaded her senses. She could not explain what he smelled like; all she could say was that she wanted to smell him even more. In fact, she had gotten the sudden urge to take his arm and take a bite of his skin. She shook her head, trying to get that thought out of her head.
Arella looked up at him but could only see his dark hair through the veil. However, he spoke, "I reckon you feel that too, my angel?"
Arella was sure if she was human, she would have a nosebleed by how hot her face had become. His voice was deep, with a vibrato that seemed to shake her to her core. She desperately wanted to raise her hands and pat her cheeks to cool them down. However, she was at her wedding, and such a scene would be unbecoming.
It was only a few seconds later that she realized that he had asked her a question, "Yes, I do feel that." She took in a deep breath, part trying to calm herself and part taking in a huge lungful of his scent.
He chuckled, "Good to know." Arella almost keeled over upon hearing his laugh. It was as if the sound had pierced her in her stomach, for it felt like there was a horde of butterflies trying to escape. She looked up again, trying to see if she could get a look at his face.
