"I love you." Harlow ignored the man seated on the large bed. If they hadn’t signed a stupid contract and made that useless agreement that she regrets to this day, she would have picked a different room tonight.
After letting herself fall into his hands this morning, staying in the same room as this man was the last thing she wanted tonight. She had no idea when her heart and body might betray her again. The last thing she wanted was to end up having sex with him.
At this rate, she didn’t trust her body or her heart anymore. Alanis somehow made her question her self-respect and dignity. She had no idea why she felt so powerless around him. She couldn’t take his kindness. She needed him to be hard on her. She wanted him to hate her.
She wanted him to treat her unfairly. She couldn’t have fallen back in love with him. The same man that has caused her so much pain. She couldn’t be craving the same man who had contributed a lot to the death of her child.
A man she had sworn to hate for the rest of her life. She felt so disgusted at herself. She had no idea this would happen, or else she would never have accepted his stupid contract in the first place.
"How many times do you want me to say it?" Alanis asked moving his hands through his hair as he watched her stack pillow at the center of their bed. It amused him to see how far his little woman would go to stay away from him.
