Chapter 38: MOCKERY
Ava and a few maids helped Harlow pack her things out of the mansion. She had a lot of properties, unfinished jewels, and a few unfinished projects. She had lost focus in life because she fell in love with that man, but she wouldn’t anymore. She would never let herself ever be distracted anymore.
It was time for her to focus more on her life. She’s more than Harlow Blackwood, just like her father, Harlow has grown to be so industrious without anyone’s knowledge.
For now, she would go to an unknown place in the country where no one can find her easily and get an apartment. She would need to stay away from everything and everyone for the time being, and then she would be back.
"I think that’s all," Ava said staring at the now empty room with just a king-size bed and the dazzling pieces of furniture. She had also heard from the other maids that Harlow’s allowance had been cut too, she was no longer living off of the Blackwoods. She was solely on her own now.
All Ava could think about was how they would survive outside of Frank. But no matter what, her relationship with her miss is a better or worse one. She is ready to suffer with her miss until things turn for the better.
"Then let’s go." Harlow held Grandma Hamilton’s arms as they started leaving her bedroom. Once she stepped out of the room, she was greeted by a smiling Claudia.
"Poor innocent thing kicked out of her father’s mansion. How would you fend for yourself now?" She mocked pitifully and then smiled.
"That is my problem, not yours. I’d live even better than you."
"Ta ta," Claudia clicked her lips, shaking her head slightly as she placed her hands on her sister’s shoulder. She was here to mock Harlow, and she would stop at nothing than mock the living hell out of her sister. She would make her feel the same way she had felt after the humiliation from Alanis. To make her feel so little of herself.
