Garden Of Poison

Chapter 271: Snowflake X Ray of Sun

Thank you everyone who have been patient. My dad had to be hospitalised, but he is doing better now. I know some expect ’compensation’ updates, but there are times I hope you understand that things happen in my life as I am a normal person.

And for those who feel it is ridiculous that I miss updates, sometimes I don’t have the mental capacity to write continuously and take breaks to recharge instead of writing garbage for the sake of it. I don’t charge high privilege for the same reason, keeping in mind that readers don’t pay much. I keep 69 coins instead of 600–1000 coins for 20 Chapters like some of the authors on the platform. The sad part is, there are some who don’t understand that there are things we go through in life. On a side note, this book will be ending this month.

Since last night, Emily had begun to feel anxious in Raylen’s presence. The Archdemon had displayed the patience of a saint, and even though she had subtly provoked him to elicit a reaction from him, it felt as though she was the one burning from the flames she had tried to ignite.

She felt the firm grip of his fingers on the back of her head, tugging her hair and indicating the dominance he desired to assert over her. Her lips parted, and her breath grew increasingly heavier with each second that passed beneath his burning gaze.

"You should have chosen to utter those words back in the castle, Princess," Raylen murmured, his other hand reaching for the zipper on the back of her dress.

Emily’s heart shuddered, and her eyes widened slightly in response to his words. Here? Her cheeks burned even brighter than the hidden sun as she felt him lean in. When his lips hovered just above hers, they parted even further in eager anticipation, waiting for his lips to descend on her own. However, the Archdemon playfully teased her by tracing his lips along her cheek and then her jaw, his warm breath caressing her skin.

"What if someone comes by?" Emily asked, her eyes wanting to dart around their surroundings, but it was hard to tear her gaze away from the handsome man before her.

Raylen’s hand, which was grasping the zipper, harshly pulled it down, the sound creating a sharp contrast to the serene silence they were surrounded by. His lips then drew close to her ear, and he replied, "If someone were to stumble upon us, they wouldn’t be able to see us. This is our private space and time." And if someone did catch a glimpse, he would gouge their eyes out of their skull, not that he would allow anyone to see her in that state.

Raylen released her hair from his hold and let go of her zipper. Taking a step away, he admired her with his dark blue eyes. He asked her, "Scared, Little Red?" because he could hear Emily’s heart thudding in her chest.

"No," Emily whispered. She wasn’t scared, but there was an unmistakable blend of nervousness and excitement coursing through her veins right now.
