Chapter 135: Demons’ Lair

Anastasia, like the rest of those present, became startled by Niyasa’s agonising cry. When she leaned to the side, her gaze fell upon the sight of the young princess’s hand trapped beneath one of the chair’s legs, with blood slowly trickling from her right hand.
"What is your hand doing under my chair, Niyasa?" Dante questioned her in a nonchalant tone, and he rose to his feet so Niyasa could extract her hand from its position.
"Niyasa!" Lady Maya quickly got up from her seat and hurried over to where her daughter was. She tried to help her stand before shifting her gaze towards Dante.
Dante stared back at Lady Maya with an undeterred expression. Meanwhile, Niyasa continued to cry out in pain, as each slight shift of her hand caused a sensation akin to that of a hole being drilled from the back to the front of her trembling palm.
"M—My hand...!" Niyasa’s wails persisted. The rest of the Blackthorn siblings watched her with wide eyes, knowing that his actions had been deliberate.
"Take her back to her room and tend to her wound," Dante instructed Lady Maya. He then turned to Niyasa and remarked, "Next time you will be careful, won’t you?"
Anastasia observed the fear-stricken expression on Niyasa’s face, the young lady’s agony silencing any words that might have otherwise escaped her lips. Dante was vindictive, and his cold yet satisfied expression told her that he wasn’t someone who would hold back when it came to paying people what they deserved.
"I will see to it right away," Lady Maya murmured amidst the haze and her daughter’s tears and distress, leading them both out.
Dante sat down, and so did the few individuals who had risen from their seats to see the sight of the young princess’s bloodied hand. Upon locking eyes with the others, they swiftly averted their gaze to their meals and resumed consuming them with haste.
