Chapter 112 – A Girl of Low Value
"Then give it back. And why are you still holding me? Are you falling for me?" Aiden’s arms around her loosened instantly, but his words extinguished something within her.
Aiden stared at Violet with a look of disgust in his eyes. "Fall for a girl of one-night stands, no way. I don’t dream of getting married, but even if I did, it would be with a girl with more dignity and honor."
Violet paled instantly, and something died within her. This was the worst insult she had ever received in her life.
She never cried for a man, but this time, tears stung the corners of her eyes. She held back instead of letting them fall and ran out of the reception.
Aiden realized the impact of his words, guilt filling his heart as he chased after her.
She was the best friend of his best friend’s wife. Though he wanted to extinguish any hopes of a relationship between them, he knew he had gone too far.
After a thorough search, Violet could not be found. He checked the surveillance cameras and saw Jack talking to her before a car arrived. The man did not step out of the car before Violet entered, so he confronted Jack.
"I saw you speaking to Violet. Where is she?"
"I don’t know," Jack shook his head. Alex had instructed him to take Violet anywhere she wanted to go, but Violet was upset and refused to sit in his car.
