Chapter 22 - I Have a Wedding to Plan
In Grandpa’s study, the old man and his eldest grandson sat facing each other as the old man poured both of them hard liquor. The wheelchair was on the side of the chair Alex sat on. He picked up his glass and sipped as the old man spoke.
"Please spare your brother. He’s still young." He knew without a doubt that Alex would strike, never caring if the enemy was within or external.
Logan seemed like trouble, and Alex did not intend to take it kindly with him. Glaring at his grandfather, he gently dropped the glass on the table.
"A teenager is a person we can term as young, not a full-grown man who wants to be the CEO of the Kings empire."
In other words, Logan knew exactly what he was doing and had to pay the price, but the old man was disheartened.
This was the same way he used to be in his youth, so it was as if he was talking to his younger self.
He did a lot of bad things, and though justifiable, he could not agree for Alex to follow the same path.
"Killing does not solve problems or bring peace," he advised, but Alex did not agree with him. There was some form of peace he only attained after removing certain people from his path.
"It does, like I remember someone saying, dead men don’t talk. Logan talks too much because he’s still alive."
In other words, the only way to silence his kid brother would be through death, which was a very easy task, but the old man could not allow it.
He was the only one capable of putting Alex in check, but if left on his own, Alex would remain a terror.
