Chapter 269: ELDER KANJI’S FINAL MOVE
Two days later a guard arrived at the villa with a message from the Yakuza council demanding that they needed to see me.
"I don’t want to meet anyone " I drawled and waved my hand to dismiss him.
One hour later, he was still pacing outside my house. I knew the Yakuza council’s agenda was pushing for us to send spies to Chugach and Sitka. Elder Kanji had this well planned out. I was so lost in thought that the voices outside my door alarmed me. I listened in and it was one of the elders of the Yakuza. Sighing stood up and walked to the main door, yanked it open, found three elders standing there and I sarcastically asked "Do you think that anyone has a right to shout outside my home? Unless you want to die an early death!"
"I apologize for your highness, but the Yakuza council has been waiting for you since this morning. We have urgent matters to discuss" One of the elders spoke up.
"Discuss? I thought we finalized the matters two days ago. What could be more urgent?" I stared at him until he fidgeted. But the other two remained stubborn. He braced himself and continued "Your Highness, as the leader of the Yakuza we need your guidance" I almost applauded the old elder for his tenacity and knew that I would not barge.
I turned and walked into the living room and sat down. No one followed me in and this got on my nerves. "Are you going to stand there all day?" I yelled in anger. They all rushed into my home and stood waiting in the living room.
"Why must we meet today?" I asked in a bored manner.
"Isamu. We received word that Conri and Lucian are in Sitka. Our spies informed us that they even went into the pearl nest and spent two days in it"
"So, I heard" I lied. It seems that Elder Kanji was working overtime.
The elder looked at me in astonishment. I knew he expected my temper to rise and for me to yell that we needed a course of action. It was no longer easy to push my buttons and I watched as the wheels turned in his head and he went ahead with his next plan.
" We already got word that they plan on venturing into the pearl business. The pearl farm that Kaka died on is owned by the Aria family. The Yakuza is ready to support Lobo and Zineb to get it back so that we can increase our footprint for the pearl business. "
