Chapter 257: CELEBRATING CHRISTMASS
LUCIAN’S POV
On Christmas Eve the family converged at the Freki Mansion gardens for the celebration and dinner. The only people who were missing were Tizheruk and Haida. I could tell that Conri seemed sad about it but we could do nothing as they bore the responsibility of being in Sitka. I had listened to a conversation between Conri and Tizheruk earlier as Conri informed him that everyone had come for the dinner party and Elder Zaya was missing him.
" I hope to see you in the new year " Conri ended the call as I beckoned to the dinner.
Anisha had set up a round table at the garden and we went all out on the decor.
" You outdid yourself this time " I leaned down to whisper to her as she sat on my left shoulder while Conri sat on my right. Elder Zaya was seated at the head of the table and Mrs. Hemming was seated at her right side. The rest of the family, Hunter and Tala, Addison and Keith, Aspen, Everest, and Levy, Luna, and Benjamin plus Levy had smiles on their faces as they chatted along. Elanor and Luke had already retired to sleep since it was headed to midnight as Luke had spent the better part of the evening swimming.
" Thank you all for coming " Elder Zaya’s strong and sound voice interrupted our small chitchats with each other. " I must say that I never expected to have such warmth surrounding all of us one year later. The appearance of Lucian at the Golden Shifter annual dinner made everything worthwhile. Conri got off the mountains and he is now the pack Alpha. This has always been my dream and it finally came true. I must say your parents are happy in the moon’s heaven as they watch how great you have become. "
" Thank you, Godmother," Conri nodded at her.
" Lucian my child, what would I do without you? You are such a ray of sunshine that brought so many changes in Chugach. Your influence on everyone is the kind of attitude and changes we need within ourselves and the pack. We are forever grateful for you"
" It was my pleasure" I responded to her.
She then turned to Luna" What more can I say about the changes? I am happy to see you grow and now expecting pups. Benjamin, you are so lucky to have Luna as your mate. Be good to her for the rest of your life."
" Thank you Zaya, " Benjamin and Luna piped.
