The pack office kept busy, and Lucian was already complaining four weeks later that we never had time for each other after being appointed the Alpha of the Golden shifter pack. I called him on a Friday evening as I was held up in the office. He answered on the first ring and sounded out of breath.
" What is it ?" He snapped at me and I could tell he was annoyed and frustrated.
" Why do you sound out of breath Lucian? " I practically stood up from the office chair and listened to his call.
" Because I walked into the woods to clear my mind and calm my body from being frustrated." He responded.
" Why ?" I closed the laptop, picked up my coat, and walked out of my office.
" Conri, I don’t want to sound like a whiner but I miss you " He rasped.
" Where are you lil pup?" I demanded as I walked towards the waiting cars.
" In the forest, do you know that it’s a full moon tonight? ’’ He chuckled but there was so much pain behind his laughter.
" I am coming to you " I disconnected the call and boarded the car instructing the driver to head to the construction site. It was easier to access the Freki forest from the Freki Resort. By the time we arrived at the Freki resort construction site, Everest was the only one left and he stood at the gate with a smirk on his face.
I got out of the car and dismissed the driver. " Why do you have a smirk on your face Everest? " I demanded in frustration.
