"Godmother has pack members working for her" I laughed and Everest caught on that Levi was one of us.
"She has been putting effort in for years so that when you got down the mountain, you would find members who are loyal to you. "Everest nodded.
"How did she do it?" I sat at the corner of the desk.
"All of us have been Alpha Lobo’s punching bag. She just needed to say Conri Dolf, and we all followed her," Everest boasted.
"Why? "
"You might have forgotten it, Conri, but before you helped many people in the pack without looking at their background. You cared little about your wealth and just supported and were the soft landing for the young wolves and the old ones. Everyone noticed it then, and they never forgot. You won loyalties way before your exile. "
"I was just doing what a normal person should do," I asserted.
"You think it’s normal, but do you know we learned of your exile after you were already in the mountains? Alpha Lobo ensured the wall was hushed until Lupe’s remains were scattered in the sea. The wolves requested a meeting and questioned Alpha Lobo. He squashed all the suggestions and labeled you a murderer and rogue wolf. "Everest sighed.
