Chapter 22 Change
Wan Chu’er complained that Manager Bai wasn’t a decent person. A proper person, who would climb over walls? Such a grown man, acting like a lunatic all day, God knows what sneaky things he’s up to.
Before she knew it, she had arrived at her own home. The distance between the school and the Glass Factory Family Quarters was short; it was only a twenty-minute walk, which was one of the benefits of a small town.
The living room at home was filled with washed cucumbers and radishes. Bai Zhixi was sitting on one side, cutting cucumbers, and the cut cucumbers were poured directly into a large basin.
When she saw Wan Chu’er enter the house, she exclaimed in surprise, "Chuchu, how come you’re back?"
Wan Chu’er smiled and said, "I came back to have lunch with you. At a glance, I knew you hadn’t cooked. Are you planning to skip meals again?"
Bai Zhixi stood up, wiping her hands, and guiltily said, "How could that be? I was just about to cook. It’s such a waste of your time to come back here. You should still eat out from now on."
Wan Chu’er put down her backpack and took the initiative to go to the kitchen to help her mother cook.
"I’m going to have lunch at home from now on, rest at home for half an hour, and then go back to school. Only with good rest can I have the energy to continue studying in the afternoon."
In her previous life, Wan Chu’er had gotten used to taking a lunch break for over a decade.
Bai Zhixi thought about it, feeling that resting well was indeed important, so she didn’t say anything more and just sped up her actions to quickly prepare lunch for her daughter.
